In late 2020, I worked through some deep grief by making dozens of tiny watercolor paintings of plants that I love, from a place that I love. Months later, I can look back and see the purpose of that project, and how it led me exactly where I need to be. Sometimes all we need are time and art to help us see - the time part is the hardest. // I launched a new business and will be sharing more about that very soon. Excited to tell more stories about what I've been up to the past few months!

A few nights ago I dreamed that a bee stung my fin

A few nights ago I dreamed that a bee stung my finger and then wound some kind of super-strong thread around it so tightly that I started to lose circulation. I woke up panicked and realized that my REAL hand was wedged awkwardly under my opposite arm, throbbing and numb from being smooshed for who knows how long. It took three days to get back to normal 😂 So, uh, huge props to my dream for alerting me of my lack of circulation.

If my brain is a tangled string, twisted with knots and broken ends, it's paint, water, and a good pulpy paper that settles it smooth again. I'm grateful for this little desk and its layers of grief. You gotta have a space to lay it all out and blink through, clear eyes and heart. Whatever your process is, may it bring focus to the road ahead. We're going to need it.
